How to disable GIFs in Kudos

Admins can disable the GIPHY GIF library across Kudos when animated GIFs are not appropriate for their recognition program or workplace. When disabled, users will no longer have access to the GIF library in any end-user features such as recognition and award messages, comments, Spaces, and celebration card messages.

• Your organization does not want animated GIFs used in recognition or award messages.
• Your communication or brand guidelines do not allow GIFs.

Disable GIFs

1. From the admin menu, expand Platform set up.
2. Select Feature management.
3. Turn off Allow GIFs.
4. Click Save.

Once saved, the GIF library will no longer be available in any employee-facing features across Kudos.

• This setting controls GIFs from the GIPHY library throughout the platform.
• Disabling Allow GIFs does not affect the ability to upload images or attach files.

Q: Where are GIFs disabled?
A: The GIF library is removed from end-user facing features, including recognition and award messages, comments, Spaces, celebration card messages, and other areas where the GIF library is available.

Q: Does disabling GIFs prevent users from uploading images or files?
A: No. The Allow GIFs setting does not affect uploaded image or file attachments.

Problem: Users can still access the GIF library

• Confirm Allow GIFs is turned off under Platform set up > Feature management.
• Make sure you clicked Save after changing the setting.
