Awards are a great way to celebrate your teammates for outstanding contributions, milestones, or special achievements. Awards are often tied to specific programs or criteria set by your company, include a badge and may also include points. Sending an award helps you show appreciation in a more formal and meaningful way.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Finding an award
- Select Awards from the Home menu
- Use the search engine or simply select the award you want to give
Adding recipients
If you're adding one or a few recipients, you can do so manually:
- Click on Send award
- Type each recipient's name in the search field and select the correct one
If you're adding a significant number of recipients, you can use the bulk send feature:
- Click the 3-dot menu next to the Send award button and select Bulk send award
- Download the sample CSV template
- Upload the list of recipients, adding their name and/or email address
- The system will review your list and help you find exact matches in Kudos
Adding a message
Add a meaningful message letting the recipient(s) know why they've earned this award
Adding points
- If the award is set up to be given without any points, no point value will be displayed
- If the award is set up to be given with a fixed amount of points, that value will be displayed and cannot be changed
- If the award is set up to be given with any amount of points, enter the desired value under Points per recipient
Once sent, your award message will display in the main feed of the Home page, and recipients will be instantly notified.
Note: For added visibility, your program admin can pin award messages to the Upcoming and important section for 1–7 days.

- Add a heartfelt, specific message to make the award more meaningful
- If points are adjustable, consider aligning the points value with the impact of the achievement
- Review your message before sending to ensure accuracy and clarity
FAQs
Q: Can I send an award to more than one person?
A: Yes, you can add multiple recipients when sending an award, either manually or by uploading a CSV list.
Q: Can I change the points for an award?
A: Only if the award has an unlocked points value. Locked awards display a fixed number of points that cannot be changed.
Q: Can I edit an award after sending?
A: You can edit the message however, you cannot edit the points value or type of award once it has been sent.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Problem: I can't find the award I want to give
- Some awards are only available for certain individuals or teams
- Check with your Kudos administrator that the award is currently active - expired awards will not appear
Problem: I can't adjust the points value for an award
- The points may be locked for this award - only unlocked awards allow points adjustments
- If you believe it should be adjustable, contact your Kudos administrator
Problem: I can't add a recipient
- Ensure you are typing the correct name or email address
- Ensure the person is active in the program
