Connecting your Kudos account with your Microsoft account makes it easier to celebrate your colleagues, give recognition, and stay engaged — all without leaving your favourite Microsoft tools. Once connected, you can send and receive recognition directly from MS Teams and Outlook, get real-time notifications, and access your Kudos Home feed.
This integration helps you stay connected to your team and your company’s culture while streamlining recognition into your everyday tools.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Connecting from Kudos > My settings
- In Kudos, click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select My settings from the dropdown menu.
- Under the General tab, scroll to the Microsoft 365 section.
- Click View in app store. This will open Microsoft 365 and take you directly to the Kudos app page.
- In Teams, click Add (or Open if you previously installed it) from the Kudos app page.
- Enter your organization domain (e.g., yourcompany.kudos.com).
- Contact your program admin to get the correct domain for your organization
- Click Connect my account.
- Log into your Kudos account using your email and password or your company’s SSO.
- When prompted, click Connect to allow Kudos to integrate with Microsoft 365.
Note: If you don't see a Microsoft 365 option in the General tab under My settings in Kudos, ask your Kudos program admin to enable the Microsoft 365 integration for your organization.
Connecting directly from Microsoft 365/Teams/Outlook
- In MS 365, Teams or Outlook (web version), go to Apps from the left-hand navigation.
- Search for Kudos and select Kudos® (Next Generation).
- Click Add (or Open if you you previously installed it).
- Enter your organization domain (e.g., yourcompany.kudos.com).
- Contact your program admin to get the correct domain for your organization
- Click Connect my account.
- Log into your Kudos account using your email and password or your company’s SSO.
- When prompted, click Connect to allow Kudos to integrate with Microsoft Teams.
Note: Our legacy Kudos app is also available for clients still using the legacy platform, so be sure to select the correct Kudos app, Kudos® (Next Generation)
Using Kudos in Microsoft Teams and Outlook web
- Once you successfully connect your account, you'll land on the Kudos Home tab in Teams.
- Your Kudos feed will show all your organization's recognition activity and your progress toward your recognition goals.
- Use the Recognize someone button to send recognition directly from Teams.
- To make access easier, right-click the Kudos icon in Teams and select Pin — you can even drag it to the top of your menu.
Disconnecting Your Microsoft Teams Account
If you no longer want Kudos connected to your Microsoft 365 account, you can disconnect at any time.
From Kudos:
- In Kudos, click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select My settings from the dropdown menu.
- Under the General tab, scroll to the Microsoft 365 section.
- Click Disconnect. This will disconnect your Kudos and Teams accounts and clear your notification history.
From the Kudos app in MS Teams or Outlook (web version):
Find the Kudos app in Microsoft Teams or Outlook.
From the Home tab, click Sign out. This will disconnect your Kudos and Teams accounts and clear your notification history.
Helpful Tips & Ideas
- Don’t know your Kudos domain? Ask your program admin before connecting.
- Pin the Kudos app in your Teams and Outlook side bar for faster access.
- You can always switch to the full Kudos platform using the Use full web app link in the Home tab.

Q: How do I know if I’ve connected successfully?
A: Once connected, you’ll see the Kudos Home tab in Teams and Outlook web, and the app icon will appear in your left-hand menu.
Q: Can I still use the full Kudos platform?
A: Yes! Click Use full web app in the Kudos Home tab to access all Kudos features.
Q: Do I need to install Kudos every time I use Teams or Outlook?
A: No — once connected and pinned, Kudos will stay in your Teams and Outlook side bar until you remove or unpin it.
Q: What if I get a recognition notification?
A: Clicking the notification will take you directly to the full view of that recognition inside the Kudos Home tab of Teams or Outlook web.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Problem: I don’t see the Kudos app in Microsoft Teams or Outlook web
- Check with your program admin if the Kudos app is available for your organization
- Ensure you’ve added Kudos® (Next Generation), not another version
Problem: I don’t know my Kudos domain
- Ask your program administrator for the correct domain
- Look for domain hints in your Kudos welcome email
Problem: I can’t connect my Kudos account in Microsoft Teams or Outlook web
- Make sure you've activated your Kudos account
- Check if you’ve entered the correct organization domain (e.g., yourcompany.kudos.com)
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting via My settings in Kudos
Problem: My Kudos Notifications aren’t showing up in Microsoft Teams or Outlook web
- Check if you’re still connected in My settings > Microsoft 365
- Make sure your Teams and Outlook notification settings allow app alerts
Problem: I want to disconnect my Kudos account from Teams
- Go to My settings in Kudos
- Click Disconnect in the Microsoft 365 section
- Or, click Sign out from the Home tab inside the Kudos Teams or Outlook app
